On the drive from Dollywood to Stratford Hall we meandered through the Tennessee Mountains by Mitchell Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, and through the Blue Ridge Mountains, Lynchburg and Roanoke on the way. The scenery is stunning. Here we started seeing the leaves color changing.
Stratford Hall, Montross, Virginia
History, wine and oysters are a great combination for a road trip stop. Stratford Hall is on the grounds of the historic plantation where Robert E Lee was born.
The house was built in 1730s and it is open for tours during the annual Wine and Oyster festival. The grounds are lovely. Mark the calendar for tomorrow.
We stayed in the cabins in the woods just outside of the main grounds.

The World Theater at the Bible Museum, 400 4th Street, DC, was featuring The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe from the Chronicles of Narnia.
We took the opportunity to visit the museum and to see the show. Both were excellent. The museum was fascinating and covered the entirety of the Bible.
