Scripture
Jeremiah 6:16
“Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.”
Vineyard Lesson
Rest Is Found in the Right Path
After harvest, the Vinetender does not force the vine toward another crop. Healthy leaves remain at work, replenishing reserves while the plant follows its created path toward dormancy.
Devotional
At a crossroads, hurry can feel safer than stillness. We may choose the quickest route simply because movement gives us a sense of control. God invites us to pause, look, ask, and then walk.
The post-harvest vine follows an ancient rhythm it did not invent. Fruitfulness gives way to replenishment, leaves continue gathering light, and strength moves inward before winter. The vine thrives by honoring the season designed for it.
Jeremiah links rest with obedience. The good way is not always the easiest or newest path, but it is the way shaped by God’s wisdom. Soul rest grows when our steps agree with His direction.
Today, resist the pressure to rush ahead. Ask God where His good way lies, then take the next faithful step. The Vinetender does not lead you into frantic striving; He guides you in paths that restore the soul.
Vineyard Vision
Picture two vineyard rows meeting near an old wooden post. One path is worn by hurried footsteps; the other passes quietly beneath leaves glowing in the morning light. Imagine the Vinetender beside you, pointing toward the good way. Pause, listen, and notice the peace that comes before you take the next step.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, slow my hurried heart and teach me to seek Your wisdom. Show me the good way, give me courage to walk in it, and restore my soul through faithful obedience. Keep me aligned with Your seasons and attentive to the Vinetender’s voice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
