October 14 Devotional: Wisdom That Waits

Scripture

Proverbs 19:11  “A person’s wisdom yields patience…”

Vineyard Lesson

Ripening Cannot Be Rushed

A wise Vinetender does not rush the vine. Pruning, flowering, fruit set, and ripening each have their appointed time. Patient attention allows the grapes to develop the character they cannot gain through haste.

Devotional

We often ask God for wisdom while quietly demanding an immediate answer. We wait, listen, and resist forcing a decision. Waiting is not spiritual inactivity.

It is a season for noticing motives, testing assumptions, seeking trustworthy counsel, and allowing Scripture to shape our desires. Like grapes maturing on the vine, discernment develops depth when it remains connected to God. We can move faithfully on what is clear and leave what is unclear in His hands.

The Vinetender is never careless with timing. He knows when fruit needs sun, when it needs rain, and when it is ready to be gathered. What feels like delay may be protection, preparation, or deeper formation. God may be shaping the person who will carry the answer before He reveals the answer itself.Today, ask boldly and wait humbly. God is not irritated by your need. He welcomes your question and forms wisdom in you even before the way forward becomes visible.

Key Takeaway

God’s wisdom is generous, and patient trust makes room to receive it.
